Haverfordwest County AFC are delighted to announce the signing of Ben Ahmun, who will link up with the club for the 2024-25 season.
The striker joins the Bluebirds on a one-year deal, having spent the last two seasons with Pontypridd United in the JD Cymru Premier.
The 32-year-old is a real success story, with his career seeing him climb the Welsh pyramid system all the way to the top-flight, where has shown that he is right at home. Ben’s former clubs include AFC Porth, Caldicot Town, STM Sports and Penybont.
Our fourth signing of the summer transfer window, Ben joins Greg Walters, Owain Jones and Alaric Jones in putting pen to paper for the upcoming season.
Ben was part of the Cymru C side that secured a memorable 1-0 victory over England at Stebonheath Park in March, as he came on as a late substitute having earned a second call up in as many seasons.
The forward has previous experience of scoring at the Ogi Bridge Meadow, something he did for his three most recent clubs, and he can now look forward to reuniting with former teammates Corey Shephard and Owain Jones ahead of what promises to be an exciting 2024-25 campaign.
Commenting on the news, manager Tony Pennock said: “Ben brings a different dimension to our talented attacking options. He is a player with vast experience in our league.
“To be able to sign a current Wales ‘C’ player is testament to our club, as I know how many other clubs in our league were keen to sign Ben.
“Again, his experience will be a big asset to our youngsters next season.”
Upon signing for the club, Ben said: “I’m delighted to be joining Haverfordwest County for the 24/25 season.
“It’s a progressive club in which I’m looking forward to working with the manager and contributing to a successful season.”
