Haverfordwest County visit Latham Park to take on Newtown in the JD Cymru Premier tomorrow afternoon, hoping to show a response to last week’s defeat at Bala Town.

The Bluebirds went down 2-0 at Maes Tegid, with George Newell’s brace ensuring a frustrating afternoon for County, who had opportunities but were ultimately left disappointed on the way home from Gwynedd.

The Robins, meanwhile, suffered a 2-1 defeat away at Cardiff Metropolitan last Friday. Matt Chubb’s goal had given the Archers the lead before Aaron Williams provided a swift response, however Harry Owen scored in stoppage time to secure victory for the Students and end Newtown’s eight-game winning run in all competitions.

The previous meeting between the sides only came last month, when the Powys side ran out 4-0 winners at the Ogi Bridge Meadow thanks to a brace from Williams along with goals from Henry Cowans and Zeli Ismail.

The Town currently find themselves eighth in the standings, six points adrift of Cardiff Metropolitan in sixth. While a victory wouldn’t move the Bluebirds up the table, it could see them close the gap to sixth to three points if results go their way.

Entry to Latham Park is priced at £5 for adults, £3 for over 65s and £1 for under 18s.
