Haverfordwest County AFC are delighted to announce that the Socially Distant Sports Bar have agreed to come on board as a new club partner for the 2024-25 season.

The hugely popular comedy/sport podcast, which was created in response to the lack of live sport during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, and has since recorded over 200 episodes, was included in the Telegraph’s 50 Best Cultural Events of 2020 poll.

With new episodes released on a weekly basis, the podcast has consistently been ranked in the upper echelons of the Apple Podcasts rankings, and features former BBC Wales broadcast journalist and current Cardiff Metropolitan University lecturer, Steffan Garrero, and comedians, Elis James and Mike Bubbins.

Steffan, Elis and Mike take it in turns to pick a feature-length documentary, short clip and book related to sport, and they then discuss the various material before regularly taking numerous detours and talking about subjects loosely related to the original clips – meaning you certainly don’t need to be a fan of sport to enjoy the podcast!

The growing popularity of the podcast saw it given the opportunity to feature on BT Sport (now TNT Sports) in 2022, with eight episodes of ‘Down The Clubhouse’ – which were filmed at Cowbridge RFC – airing across the course of the summer.

We are very pleased to have reached agreement for sponsorship of the clubhouse at the Ogi Bridge Meadow Stadium, which is set to be renamed the Socially Distant Sports Bar.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Socially Distant Sports Bar for their valued support, and we look forward to working with them throughout the course of the 2024-25 season.

The Socially Distant Sports Bar is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Amazon Music, while you can follow them on Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok. They also have a Patreon account with three different membership tiers to enable you to show your support for the podcast!
