Haverfordwest County AFC are delighted to announce that Corey Shephard will be rejoining the club for the remainder of the season.
The midfielder returns for a third spell with the Bluebirds, as we gear up for the start of Phase Two of the 2023-24 JD Cymru Premier season next Friday.
A firm favourite amongst the Haverfordwest County faithful, Corey’s penalty in last season’s play-off final at Newtown ended our 19-year wait to return to Europe, in a day never to be forgotten by those who were in attendance.
The 26-year-old was a key figure throughout his first two stints at the Ogi Bridge Meadow, as he proved to be one of the stand-out players in our first season back in the top-flight in 2020-21, before playing a vital role in our strong performances across Phase Two last season, which culminated in our play-off triumph in May.
Having departed County following the conclusion of the 2022-23 campaign, Corey linked up with fellow Cymru Premier side Pontypridd United, where he made 22 appearances in all competitions for the Dragons this term.
Corey is our second addition of the January window, following the return of Declan Carroll for the remainder of the season. As well as this, goalkeeper Ifan Knott, defender Jacob Owen and striker Ben Fawcett have all committed their futures to the club by signing two-year, 18-month and one-year deals respectively.
Commenting on Corey’s return to the club, manager Tony Pennock said: “When the opportunity came to talk to Corey it was something I jumped at. His experience in this league is vast, and he will add a dimension to our team that we’ve missed this season.
“He left us on good terms in the summer having played a big part in the second phase of last season, and we welcome him back to our club.”
Great to have you back, Corey!
