Haverfordwest County AFC are delighted to confirm that Dan Hawkins has agreed a one-year extension to his current contract with the club.
Dan linked up with the Bluebirds in March 2023, having most recently played for Shelbourne in the League of Ireland Premier Division, and he went on to have a big impact in what proved to be a successful Phase Two of the 2022-23 season for the Town.
After opening his account for the club on his debut in the 4-0 win over Airbus UK Broughton, Dan went on to play a part in all of our remaining five games of Phase Two, before starting in both the European play-off semi-final and final wins at Cardiff Metropolitan and Newtown.
A versatile player who is comfortable either playing in the wing-back role or right across the forward line, Dan started all four of our European ties in the summer, playing an important role in the history-making team. He has played 37 times for the Bluebirds to date.
The 22-year-old was an ever present in Phase One of the current 2023-24 campaign, featuring in all 22 games and providing an important point of difference with his creativity which has seen him notch up numerous assists.
Dan most recently found the net in the 2-0 win over Barry Town United at the Ogi Bridge Meadow on Boxing Day, as his well-taken strike secured the points for the Bluebirds.
Upon signing his new contract, Dan said: “I’ve really enjoyed my time at the club so far, and I know the club has big ambitions moving forward.
“I want to continue to be a big part of that and help get this club to the top of Welsh domestic football”
Commenting on the news, manager Tony Pennock said: “Dan has shown how important versatile players are in building a successful team. He just gets on with the role he’s given and performs at a very consistent level all season.
“His assists have been vital to us this season, and hopefully this continues. His quality and energy is evident, and players with his attributes will always be part of my team.”
