Chairman, Rob Edwards:

As per the recent announcement, the club are excited to play the home leg(s) of our UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying campaign at the Cardiff City Stadium.

The Ogi Bridge Meadow was never an option for us in the short term due to the ground not currently meeting UEFA’s standards. The club have been working on this, and will make the required investment to ensure that we will be in a position to play at our home ground for any future campaigns, however there have been some elements out of our control that mean this isn’t possible in the short term.

As part of our UEFA Licence application, we sourced a stadium in which to play our home legs. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, this was no longer an option. This left us a short space of time to source an alternative venue, and we found the best and closest venue available – which was the Cardiff City Stadium.

I have seen a lot of negative comments regarding this, but I hope our reasoning is clear. It has surprised me, however, as I think it is an incredible opportunity for our players to play at our National Stadium, and for us in the club, along with fans and partners, it is a wonderful opportunity to see the Bluebirds at such a venue.

Cardiff City have been brilliant with us. They have been very accommodating and allowing, supporting us to make this a memorable occasion for everyone involved.

I hope as many of you as possible will take the opportunity to come and support the boys, and help give us the best opportunity to achieve a historic first European win for Haverfordwest County.
