Haverfordwest County AFC are delighted to confirm the signing of Jack Leahy on loan from Cardiff City for the remainder of the season.
The 20-year-old winger arrives on the final day of the January transfer window, and will provide another attacking option for the Bluebirds in Phase Two.
A product of the academy system at Brighton and Hove Albion, London-born Leahy spent just over six years with the Seagulls.
In October 2020, he was loaned out to Merstham FC in Surrey, before returning in January 2021 to see out the last few months of his time on the south coast.
From there, he made the move to south Wales after agreeing to join the Bluebirds in the Professional Development League.
The youngster featured in a handful of first team matches during pre-season in the summer of 2022, starting in the victories over Cheltenham Town and Cambridge United, as well as making substitute appearances in the win against Newport County and draw with Shrewsbury Town respectively.
The highlight of Jack’s time in the capital to date came back in October 2022, when his screamer from 25 yards with just minutes remaining secured a dramatic 4-3 victory for Cardiff City U21s against their rivals Swansea City at Leckwith Stadium.
Jack is part of a family with strong footballing pedigree, with his brother, Tom, currently plying his trade with Millwall.
We look forward to welcoming Jack to the club, and are excited to see his contribution in what promises to be an action-packed Phase Two of the season.
Croeso i Hwlffordd, Jack!
