Haverfordwest County take on The New Saints for the first time in almost a year when the reigning champions visit Pembrokeshire on Saturday.

The Bluebirds will be keen to arrest their three-game losing run in the JD Cymru Premier, but will be well aware that facing them will be their toughest challenge of the season to date.

The Saints have made a strong start to the campaign, with their 10 wins and one draw from their 11 matches to date ensuring they have a seven-point cushion at the top of the table. The Oswestry outfit, who are the only full-time professional side in the league, are currently on a 10-game winning streak in the division, with their most recent success coming on Tuesday night, when they ran out 3-0 winners against Caernarfon Town.

Tony Pennock’s side find themselves eight places and 20 points further back in ninth. That said, the Bluebirds do have fond memories of playing the Saints at the Ogi Bridge Meadow in recent years, with the 2-1 victory in March 2021 – courtesy of goals from Corey Shephard and Cameron Keetch – standing out as one of the most memorable in the history of the club.
