Haverfordwest County make the journey to Park Hall on Saturday to take on current leaders The New Saints in the JD Cymru Premier.
The Bluebirds will make the journey to Oswestry in good spirits after last Saturday’s 1-0 win over high-flying Newtown at the Ogi Bridge Meadow, with Alhagi Touray Sisay’s first-half strike giving County all three points.
Tomorrow’s opponents have made an impressive start to the campaign, winning nine of their opening 11 matches, without yet tasting defeat, to see them sitting pretty at the top of the standings with 29 points.
In their previous outing in the league, Anthony Limbrick’s side ran out comfortable 5-0 winners over Cardiff Metropolitan University, with Blaine Hudson, Ryan Brobbel and Adrian Cieślewicz finding the net, with Declan McManus netting a brace.
The two sides played each other earlier in the season, on JD Cymru Premier MD3, with TNS edging a hard-fought encounter to win 1-0 in west Wales.
There was a victory apiece in the two meetings between the teams last season. The Saints edged a thrilling encounter to win 3-2 back in October 2020, before the Bluebirds exacted revenge with a 2-1 victory at the Ogi Bridge Meadow in March, with goals from Corey Shephard and Cameron Keetch either side of Hudson’s equaliser giving Wayne Jones’ side a famous win.
A victory for the Bluebirds could see them rise to as high as fourth in the table – dependant on a goal difference swing – while a point could be enough to see them finish the weekend in sixth. The lowest County can drop to is 10th, with the gap to the drop zone currently standing at five points.
The New Saints vs. Haverfordwest County – JD Cymru Premier MD12 (Kick-off: 14:30).
