Haverfordwest County welcome Connah’s Quay Nomads to the Ogi Bridge Meadow in JD Cymru Premier MD7 this Saturday (October 2).

The Bluebirds come into the game on the back of three consecutive wins against Flint Town United, Undy Athletic and Airbus UK Broughton.

Nomads, the reigning champions, announced they had accepted the resignation of manager Andy Morrison earlier this week, with former first team coach Craig Harrison – who won six top-flight titles with The New Saints – stepping up to the role of head coach.

Morrison had been in charge for six years, overseeing the most successful period in the club’s history.

It has been a relatively indifferent start to the season for tomorrow’s visitors who, after winning their first two matches, have not tasted victory since, drawing with Penybont and Caernarfon Town, and losing to Bala Town and Barry Town United.

This poor recent run of form has meant they are already eight points behind early pacesetters The New Saints.

From a Bluebirds perspective, a win tomorrow would see them move to within a point of the Nomads, as they look to continue their recent upturn in form.

In fact, a victory for Wayne Jones’ side would be their first over Connah’s Quay Nomads since February 2010, when they won 1-0 thanks to Mark Dodds’ dramatic goal in the 90th minute.

The Deeside outfit won both of the meetings between the two sides last season, recording a 4-1 victory at the Ogi Bridge Meadow in September 2020, before running out 2-0 winners in north Wales back in March.
