The Bluebirds took a point and a clean sheet from the Bridge Meadow this weekend, despite some good chances.
Alex Jones had the first shot of the game, as his far post header went well wide from a Flint corner. Jack Wilson was back in the starting lineup for the first time since December and sent a cross crashing onto the crossbar in early in the first half. Wilson was involved again as the Bluebirds fashioned the first real chance of the game as Fawcett played a ball through to Wilson, who fired low and hard, but it was well saved by Rushton.
The Bluebirds were on the attack again as Danny Williams flicked on a kick from Gajda into the path of Lewis, who squared for Fawcett but the ball was cleared before he could tap home. The best chance of the half fell to Fawcett, Jack Wilson flicked on a Scotcher cross, which Facwett controlled well, tipped over a defender and then fired over the bar. This was one of the final acts of the first half, which ended goalless.
There was an early scare for the Bluebirds as Jordan Buckley headed goalwards at the near post but Daniel Summerfield was on the line to clear. It was then Trystan Jones who provided the heroics as Buckley raced into the box and rolled the ball across the 6 yard box, but Jones was there to block and clear.
Gajda was called upon late in the second have as the ball dropped in the box from a corner and a low shot is driven at the Polish stopper, but he pulled off an excellent save with his foot. This was to be the last real chance of the game as it ended goalless at the Bridge Meadow.
