The Bluebirds travel to mid-Wales on Saturday (17th) to face an in-form Newtown side for a 5.15pm kick off.
Last Time Out
The Bluebirds faced Aberystwyth on Tuesday night where a Ben Fawcett goal was enough to earn the Bluebirds 3 points. On a night in which both defences starred, Cameron Keetch had both of the best chances of the first half, after being played in by Danny Williams both times, but the first half ended without a goal. Danny Williams was heavily involved in Bluebirds attacks, and he provided the goal as he raced passed Aberystwyth defenders on the right and squared for Fawcett, who rolled home.
Newtown travelled to the capital, where they played out a 2-2 draw to strugglers Cardiff Met. Kieran Mills-Evans headed the Robins in front, but equalized for the home side within 6 minutes. It was the Robins who retook the lead just before half time thanks to a Mwandwe strike. But a Warman goal just before the hour mark meant that the spoils were shared.
The Reverse Fixtures
The Robins visited Pembrokeshire all the way back in September, for what was the Bluebirds first home game. The Sgorio cameras visited the Bridge Meadow and the live game was a spectacle. Jordan Evans gave the visitors the lead in the 34th minute as he headed home at the back post from a long throw-in. The Bluebirds came out fighting in the second half and were awarded a penalty just before the hour mark, which Danny Williams confidently scored. The Bluebirds were behind again as Kieran Mills-Evans put the Robins back in front, but just 3 minutes later, Jack Wilson crossed to the far post and Danny Williams got his second of the game to draw the sides level. This would be the last goal of the game as the Bluebirds secured the point.
It was only a few weeks ago that the Bluebirds travelled to Newtown, where a commanding performance and goals from Kieran Lewis, Cameron Keetch and Marcus Griffiths secured a 3-0 win.
The Table
After the midweek results, the Bluebirds remain top of the Play-Off Conference, 8 points clear of Newtown. A win for the Bluebirds will result in an 8-point gap opening up at the top.
