The Bluebirds travel to The Rock to face Cefn Druids on Saturday (10th) for a 2.30pm kick off in what is the first fixture of Phase 2 of the Cymru Premier.
The Last Time Out
The Bluebirds travelled to Penybont in the final game of Phase 1 on Good Friday, with County needing 3 points and Caernarfon to lose to snatch a place in the Championship Conference. Despite Caernarfon suffering defeat to TNS, Sam Snaith and Mael Davies goals either side of half time meant that the Bluebirds will play the second phase of the Cymru Premier in the Play-Off Conference.
The Druids also faced defeat, at the hands of Aberystwyth. Goals from Jon Owen, Matthew Jones and Louis Bradford gave Aber a 3-0 lead going into half time. Alex Darlington reduced the deficit with 10 to go, however, despite a Connor Roberts red-card for the home side, the match finished 3-1.
The Reverse Fixtures
The Bluebirds faced the Druids in consecutive games before Christmas. An Elliot Scotcher late equalizer was enough to make sure the points were shared at the Bridge Meadow after Joe Faux opened the scoring. A week later, the Bluebirds travelled to Druids and suffered a 4-1 defeat. Ruberto, Azimale and Edge gave the home side a commanding lead before Jack Wilson reduced the deficit. However, it was Druids who scored again as Niall Flint secured the win.
The Table
The Bluebirds sit top of the Play-Off Conference, 8 points clear of Aberystwyth, whilst Druids are rooted to the bottom of the table with 13 points. Aberystwyth face Newtown on Friday, meaning a win for the Bluebirds could put 11 points between the two sides before Tuesday’s clash at the Bridge Meadow.
