Haverfordwest County AFC is a proud member of the JD Cymru Premier, representing Pembrokeshire at the highest level of Welsh domestic football. Alongside our senior men’s and women’s teams, we have a thriving academy dedicated to developing the next generation of footballers. We are seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Intern to help grow our digital presence and connect with fans, players, and partners through engaging, high-quality content.

Role Overview

As a Social Media Intern, you will play a key role in the day-to-day creation and management of content across our social media channels. You’ll help capture the energy of matchdays, highlight academy talent, and support our commercial partners through innovative digital activations. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about football, storytelling, and digital media.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create short-form content (videos, reels, graphics, interviews, etc.) focused on both the senior and academy teams
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and publishing content across all club platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok and YouTube)
  • Support matchday coverage – including behind-the-scenes content, live updates, and post-match highlights
  • Work with the media and commercial teams to deliver digital activations that add value for sponsors and partners
  • Contribute fresh, creative ideas to boost engagement and grow our online following
  • Help maintain a consistent tone of voice and visual identity across all digital channels
  • Monitor social media trends, analytics, and fan feedback to help inform strategy and performance

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and current trends (especially TikTok and Instagram Reels)
  • Basic skills in video editing and graphic design (e.g. Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Cloud)
  • Creative mindset with an eye for engaging storytelling
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Availability to attend home fixtures and key club events

Desirable:

  • Experience creating content for a sports team, brand, or personal channel
  • Knowledge of the JD Cymru Leagues and Welsh domestic football landscape
  • Photography or videography experience
