Haverfordwest County will be hoping for a return to winning ways when the Bluebirds welcome Barry Town United to the Ogi Bridge Meadow on Tuesday evening.

The Town suffered a 3-1 defeat at home to Connah’s Quay Nomads just two days ago. After Ben Ahmun’s penalty had cancelled out Callum West’s opening goal, Rhys Hughes netted a brace to secure the three points for the north Walians. It appeared for all money that the Bluebirds would be awarded a penalty when Ahmun was brought down inside the area by Ben Nash, however play was waved on and the striker would go on to be sent off after receiving two yellow cards.

The Dragons played out a goalless draw with Flint Town United at the Essity Stadium on Saturday, having won their previous two outings against Bala Town in the league and against Llanelli Town in the Nathaniel MG Cup.

The previous meeting between the sides came back in January. On that occasion, the sides played out a 1-1 draw at Jenner Park after Ben Ahmun’s goal with only 20 seconds on the clock was cancelled out by Kayne McLaggon. Ben Fawcett thought he had won the game for the Bluebirds in second half stoppage time, however his goal was ruled out for handball as he attempted to charge down a goal kick.

The Bluebirds currently find themselves 11th in the standings, four places and five points further back from the Linnets. County still hold a game in hand, however, while a win tomorrow would see Tony Pennock’s men move closer to the cluster of teams that are tightly packed in and around mid table.

In terms of team news, Ben Fawcett will be available for selection having served his one-game suspension after being sent off against Colwyn Bay, while Ben Ahmun will miss the game having been dismissed against the Nomads on Saturday. Defender Alaric Jones will serve the second of his three-game suspension having been shown a straight red card against Colwyn Bay.
