Haverfordwest County make their eagerly-anticipated return to European action when we take on Floriana at Centenary Stadium in the first leg of our UEFA Conference League first qualifying round tie on Tuesday evening.
The Bluebirds created club history during our most recent foray into Europe in the summer of 2023, as we won a tie for the very first time after defeating KF Shkëndija of North Macedonia on penalties, and the Town will be hoping for a similar experience this time around.
Lying in wait are the Green and Whites, who finished third in the Maltese Premier League last season. The 26-time champions of Malta have competed in the third tier European competition in three of the last five seasons, and reached the second qualifying round of last year’s UECL after defeating Tre Penne of San Marino before losing 5-0 on aggregate to Vitória de Guimarães of Portugal.

The Bluebirds sealed their third European campaign after an impressive JD Cymru Premier season – which saw us record our joint-highest top-flight finish of third – concluded with a 3-1 victory over Caernarfon Town in front of 1,700 people in the European play-off final at the Ogi Bridge Meadow in May.
The game is likely to enjoy an increased focus from football followers across the continent, with only one other match taking place in UEFA Conference League qualifying this evening as St Joseph’s host Cliftonville.
Tony Pennock’s men will be cheered on by over 100 travelling Bluebirds supporters, who have been arriving on the island since Saturday to enjoy a few days in the sun before taking in the experience of watching Haverfordwest County on the big stage.
