Haverfordwest County AFC take on Caernarfon Town in the 2024-25 JD Cymru Premier European play-off final at the Ogi Bridge Meadow on Sunday (17:10), hoping to clinch a third continental qualification in the club’s history.
The Bluebirds have had plenty of time to prepare for the game having achieved a third place finish and earning a direct route to the final after The New Saints won the JD Welsh Cup.
The Canaries, meanwhile, have had to come through a quarter-final at home to Barry Town United and a semi-final against Cardiff Metropolitan at the Carling Oval last Sunday, having finished fourth in the table.
You only have to go back to the end of March for the most recent meeting between the sides. On that occasion, the spoils were shared after Ben Ahmun’s 11th goal of the season was cancelled out by a penalty from Louis Lloyd.
Overall, the two teams met on four previous occasions in the league this season, with the Bluebirds winning the first encounter before the next three ended in draws.
As with all cup competitions in Welsh football this season, should the tie still be level after normal time, we will advance straight to a penalty shoot-out.
