Haverfordwest County AFC bring the curtain down on their 2024-25 JD Cymru Premier regular season with a game against The New Saints at the Ogi Bridge Meadow on Saturday lunchtime.
The Bluebirds earned a point in their most recent outing against Cardiff Metropolitan last Friday, a result which would prove to be enough to secure a first third place finish in the top-flight since the 2003-04 season. Adam Roscrow’s goal gave the Archers a half-time lead, but a bizarre own goal from former County goalkeeper Kelland Absalom levelled the score in the second half.
The Saints, meanwhile, defeated Bala Town 2-1 last Friday. Jack Bodenham had given the Shropshire outfit the lead, before Joe Malkin equalised for the Lakesiders. However, Sion Bradley’s penalty five minutes from time earned the champions all three points.
The most recent meeting between the sides came back in March. On that occasion, TNS ran out 5-1 winners thanks to goals from Danny Davies, Aramide Oteh, Jordan Marshall, Jordan Williams and a Luke Tabone own goal. Owain Jones scored the Town’s solitary goal.
With Tony Pennock’s men now guaranteed to finish third in the regular season, the team’s focus will be on achieving a positive display before the end-of-season European play-offs get under way.
