Haverfordwest County AFC head to Bridgend on Saturday for their first away day of Phase Two, as the Bluebirds take on Penybont in front of the live Sgorio cameras.
County were victorious in their Championship Conference curtain-raiser against Bala Town last Saturday, running out 3-2 winners at the Ogi Bridge Meadow thanks to a brace from Dan Hawkins and a goal from Ben Ahmun.
Bont suffered defeat in their first game of Phase Two after going down 2-1 to Cardiff Metropolitan at Cyncoed Campus. Chris Venables’ penalty four minutes into the second half gave Bont the lead, however CJ Craven’s equaliser and a 94th-minute strike from Jack Veale won the game for the Archers.
The previous meeting between the sides came at the start of December. On that occasion, Penybont came out on top 1-0 thanks to Mael Davies’ goal one minute into the second half after Ben Ahmun’s first-half strike was disallowed.
Tony Pennock’s side currently find themselves third in the standings, with Penybont one place and seven points higher in second. The Bluebirds are eight points clear of Cardiff Metropolitan in fourth, and nine ahead of fifth place Caernarfon Town who have a game in hand.
