Haverfordwest County AFC make the journey to Powys on Boxing Day to take on Newtown, as the race for the top six in the JD Cymru Premier begins to heat up.
The Bluebirds were last in action in the league on December 3 when we were narrowly defeated 1-0 by leaders Penybont.
The Robins’ most recent outing was on the same day, when they suffered a 2-1 defeat away at Briton Ferry Llansawel. Aaron Williams’ goal had given Newtown the lead, but the Reds responded through Corey Hurford and Jasper Payne – with the latter scoring in the 17th minute of added time following a lengthy stoppage in play.
The previous meeting between the sides came back in August. On that occasion, County ran out 3-0 winners thanks to goals from Lee Jenkins, Iori Humphreys and Owain Jones, with Zeli Ismail having been sent off in first half stoppage time.
The Town currently find themselves fourth in the standings with four games left to play in Phase One, with the Robins 11 points and five places further back in ninth.
