Haverfordwest County AFC will be looking to build on their positive recent form in the JD Cymru Premier when we make the journey to Maes Tegid to take on Bala Town on Friday evening.
The Bluebirds claimed an impressive 1-0 victory over joint-leaders Cardiff Metropolitan last Friday, with Owain Jones’ second-half strike securing all three points at LHP Stadium.
The Lakesiders, meanwhile, were held to a 2-2 draw away at newly-promoted Briton Ferry Llansawel. Ross White had given Bala an early lead, before Alex Gammond equalised from the penalty spot. Jasper Payne then stuck in first-half stoppage time to give the Reds the lead, but an own goal from Gammond eight minutes after the restart meant the spoils were shared at Old Road.
The most recent meeting between the sides came back in January. On that occasion, the Gwynedd side came out on top 3-2 in a rollercoaster contest. Martell Taylor-Crossdale had given County the lead, before Josh Ukek equalised with four minutes of normal time remaining. There was still enough time for three more goals, however, as Iwan Roberts made it 2-1 in the sixth minute of added time, with Ben Fawcett finding the net a minute later. A goal from Luke Wall in the 99th minute settled a helter-skelter affair at the Ogi Bridge Meadow.
The Town currently find themselves third in the standings, with the Lakesiders one place and two points further back in fourth. A victory for the Bluebirds could see us move up to second if results were to go our way.
