Haverfordwest County AFC can confirm that Julian Furne has stepped away from his role as vice-chairman due to work and personal commitments.

Julian was appointed to the board immediately upon chairman Rob Edwards’ appointment in May 2020 and has supported the club through the last four and a half years, in what has been a successful period in our history.

Chairman Rob Edwards said: “Julian has been alongside me in driving the club’s agenda over the last four years or so, and is someone who has added huge value to the club’s strategic direction over that period. I can’t thank him enough for being the voice of reason, and for his support in the decisions myself and the club have made. All associated with the club should be very grateful for Julian’s contribution.”

Upon Julian’s departure, Mared Pemberton will step up to the position of vice-chairperson, having been a member of the club’s board for the last three years.

Upon her appointment, Rob Edwards said: “Mared has worked incredibly hard within the football club over the past few years, and is responsible for a lot of the infrastructure works currently ongoing – and in the pipeline – and has a very much hands-on approach. I look forward to working more closely with her going forwards as we work towards our targets on and off the pitch.”

We would like to thank Julian for all of his hard work and dedication during his time with the club, and wish him well for the future.
