Haverfordwest County AFC will be looking to build on their winning start to the season tomorrow, when we return to north Wales to take on Caernarfon Town in front of the live Sgorio cameras.
The Bluebirds recorded an impressive 1-0 victory away at last season’s JD Cymru Premier runners-up and JD Welsh Cup winners, Connah’s Quay Nomads, with Ben Ahmun’s second-half penalty ensured we got off to the perfect start in 2024-25.
The Canaries have had a busy summer following their maiden European experience, which saw them defeat Crusaders of Northern Ireland in the UEFA Conference League first qualifying round, before they bowed out to Polish giants, Legia Warsaw in the next round.
Richard Davies’ side were due to open their top-flight campaign last weekend, however The New Saints’ continued involvement in European competition meant the fixture was postponed.
The north Walians have added Ryan Sears, Mathew Jones, Matty Hill, Paulo Mendes, Sam Downey and Stephen McMullan (loan) to their squad for the 2024-25 season, with last season’s JD Cymru Premier Player of the Season, Sion Bradley, joining The New Saints, while Ben Maher, Iwan Cartwright, Cai Griffith, Ryan Austin and Dion Donohue have all moved on to pastures new.
The previous meeting between the sides came back in December, when Rio Dyer’s goal saw us claim a 1-0 victory at The Oval.
