Panashe Makwiramiti was pleased that Haverfordwest County were able to turn another positive performance into a victory, as the Bluebirds defeated Colwyn Bay 1-0 at the Ogi Bridge Meadow yesterday.
Rhys Abbruzzese’s goal just after the hour mark earned Tony Pennock’s men a deserved three points, as the Town avenged the defeat to the Seagulls at the Blue Turtle Arena back in September.
The midfielder has settled in very well since joining the club in the summer, and he is now looking forward to hopefully a strong finish to Phase One and also the remainder of the season.
Here’s what the midfielder had to say in full after the game:
On the result
I think it’s really good to get that three points to lift us out of the relegation zone and keeping pushing forward from.
On the difference from our previous meeting
Obviously when we went up there the sending off really put us on the back foot, but just being solid throughout the entire game and then taking our opportunities when they came [was the difference today].
On turning our performance into a win
I think some of the times we haven’t been able to get the result despite playing really well [it’s been tough], so this feels good just to be able to get the reward for our hard work.
On the spirit in the dressing room
I think we’ve got some really good leaders in there. Dylan, Sheppy, Greg, there’s senior players just helping us throughout the process, and we’ve just got to keep on pushing on and picking up results now.
On how he has settled in since joining the club
I’m really enjoying it. The lads made it really easy to just get in and get on with the football. It’s been really good.
I think we’ve been playing really well, despite the results being the way they are, so we’re looking forward to the next few games to see what we can continue to build upon from what we’ve produced so far.
