The Haverfordwest County Walking Football Ladies returned to league action on 16th November in Cwmbran, carrying a growing reputation and steely determination. After a flawless debut in October, the second round of fixtures brought tougher opposition, tighter matches — and another unbeaten run.
The day began with a tense 0–0 draw against joint league leaders Briton Ferry Ladies Reds (BFL Reds). Despite sustained pressure and promising spells, the breakthrough never came. New goalkeeper Siân Bradley made her debut, commanding the box with confidence and distributing smartly throughout.
From there, the team found their rhythm. A dominant 3–0 win over Fleur De Lys Pinks saw goals from Marie Tilley, Laura Williams, and Leanne Jones, showcasing the squad’s attacking depth. Against Briton Ferry Ladies Rainbows (BFL Rainbows), Marie converted a penalty and Laura added her second of the day in a composed 2–0 victory.

The fourth match was a nail-biter. With the score locked at 0–0 and time running out, Laura Williams produced a moment of magic — beating two defenders and slotting home with the final kick of the game.
A second 0–0 draw followed, this time against Cardiff Blues. The team dominated possession but couldn’t find the finishing touch. Still, the defensive record remained intact.
The final match against Albies Blues was a goal-difference opportunity — and the team seized it. Four goals in the first eight minutes, including two from Laura, one from Marie, and one from Leanne, sealed a 4–0 win. Siân Bradley capped off the day with a confident penalty save, preserving the team’s perfect defensive record.
Mark Seymour, On-the-Day Manager: “I’m proud of every one of you. It was an honour to manage the team today. You stuck together, played with heart, and came away unbeaten — 4 wins, 2 draws, no goals conceded. That’s some achievement. We remain joint top and fear no one heading into the next round.”
Marie Tilley, Team Captain: “The bond we have as a team is just awesome! Another day of great football played with passion by all.”
With 10 matches played, 8 wins, 2 draws, and zero goals conceded, Haverfordwest County Walking Football Ladies continue to set the pace in League One. The squad’s unity, tactical discipline, and growing confidence suggest they’re not just here to compete — they’re here to contend.
