First Team
Cymru Premier Sat 1 November Ogi Bridge Meadow Stadium
Haverfordwest County
The New Saints
14:30

After back-to-back away games, Haverfordwest County return to the Ogi Bridge Meadow tomorrow to take on JD Cymru Premier leaders The New Saints.

The Bluebirds showed great fighting spirit to battle back from 3-1 down and secure a point from a 3-3 draw away at Connah’s Quay Nomads last Saturday. Trailing 3-1 inside the final five minutes, Dylan Rees’ goal and a penalty from Ben Ahmun earned Tony Pennock’s men a valuable point in north Wales.

The Saints are currently on an 11-game winning run, with their most recent success coming away at Llanelli Town last Friday when they triumphed 4-0 at Stebonheath Park. A goal in first-half stoppage time by Isaac Jefferies was added to in the second half by Ryan Brobbel, Jordan Williams and Dan Williams.

The most recent meeting between the sides came back in September. On that occasion, the Oswestry side ran out 5-0 winners thanks to a hat-trick from Jordan Williams, with Rory Holden and Brobbel also on the scoresheet.

County currently find themselves 11th in the standings. However, the very compact nature of the table means only six points separates us from Cardiff Metropolitan in sixth, with the competition for a coveted top six spot looking likely to go right down to the final few games of Phase One.
