The JD Welsh Cup second round takes centre stage this weekend, as Haverfordwest County head to Stebonheath Park to take on Llanelli Town on Friday evening.
The Bluebirds made it back-to-back home wins at the Ogi Bridge Meadow with a 2-0 success against Bala Town last Friday. Greg Walters’ well-taken goal opened the scoring, before Beh Ahmun’s header sealed the points for the Town.
The Reds suffered a 4-0 defeat to Flint Town United in their most recent outing last Saturday. A hat-trick from Elliott Reeves, as well as a goal from Jake Canavan, earned the Silkmen a comprehensive win at the Essity Stadium, condemning Lee John’s side to their third successive reverse.
The most recent meeting between the sides came just three weeks ago. On that occasion, the Reds recorded a 1-0 victory thanks to a first-half goal from ex-Bluebird Danny Williams.
The two teams also met in last season’s edition of the JD Welsh Cup, with Llanelli running out 2-0 winners at the LHP Stadium in Carmarthen thanks to a brace from Ethan Cann.
