Haverfordwest County welcome Swansea City under-21s to the Ogi Bridge Meadow on Wednesday evening, as the two sides go head-to-head in the third round of the Nathaniel MG Cup.
The Bluebirds defeated Newport City of the JD Cymru South 5-0 at the start of August to reach the third round. Ben Fawcett netted a brace of goals, with Dan Hawkins, Ben Ahmun and Corey Shephard also finding the net to record a comprehensive victory at the Ogi Bridge Meadow.
The young Swans entered the competition at the first round stage, and have seen off Carmarthen Town and Afan Lido to secure a third round berth. The 4-1 win away at the Old Gold saw former Briton Ferry Llansawel forward Caleb Demery net a brace, with Morgan Bates and Pembrokeshire native Ramon Rees-Siso also finding the net. This was followed up by a 5-0 success at Lido, with Kai Rhodes scoring a brace, as Daniel Watts and Josiah Kallicharan also found the net with Jak Carson netting an own goal for the JD Cymru South outfit.
The team, who are managed by Anthony Wright – a member of the coaching staff at fellow JD Cymru Premier side Briton Ferry Llansawel – reached the final of the Nathaniel MG Cup two seasons ago, when they were defeated 5-1 by The New Saints. Ben Lloyd scored the Swans’ only goal, but Adrian Cieślewicz (x2), Ryan Brobbel, Josh Pask and Brad Young found the net to secure the win for the Oswestry side.
