Haverfordwest County take on Llanelli Town in the JD Cymru Premier for the first time in 14 years when the Bluebirds head to Stebonheath Park on Friday evening.
County suffered a 3-2 defeat to Barry Town United at the Ogi Bridge Meadow on Tuesday evening. In a see-saw contest, the Blues twice came from behind to draw level before Ben Margetson’s 89th-minute header secured a late win for the Dragons.
The Reds picked up their first win of the season on Tuesday with a 2-1 come-from-behind victory at Briton Ferry Llansawel. Former Bluebird Rio Dyer’s goal had given Ferry the lead, but Lee John’s men responded through Rio Booth and another ex-Bluebird, Danny Williams, to claim all three points at the Renewable Centre Stadium.
The most recent meeting between the sides came back in December 2024 in the fourth round of the JD Welsh Cup. On that occasion, the Reds ran out 2-0 winners at LHP Stadium thanks to a brace from Ethan Cann.
The Bluebirds currently find themselves 11th in the standings, one place and one point above the Reds. The Town still hold a game in hand over the majority of sides above them, as we approach the half way point of Phase One in the JD Cymru Premier.
