Haverfordwest County are delighted to confirm that Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) have come on board as the front-of-shirt sponsor for our Development team for the 2025-26 season.

Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) is one of the United States of America’s oldest and most historic independent wrestling promotions, founded in 1993 in Lousville, Kentucky, where it still operates today.

Previously a development territory for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), it is famed for developing some of the biggest names in the industry including John Cena, Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, Randy Orton and current WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes, with the current creative operations headed up by WWE legend, Al Snow.

You can watch OVW Rise, their live weekly show that has currently operated for over 1,300 consecutive weeks, and all premium events live every Thursday on its YouTube channel, completely free, which is available to over 700 million households worldwide.

OVW was also the feature of the highly-acclaimed Netflix documentary series entitled ‘Wrestlers’ that followed the highs and lows of independent wrestling across OVW’s summer tour.

Morley Sports Management Ltd, who are operators of Haverfordwest County, took majority control of OVW back in May this year.

The Development team are two games into their 2025-26 campaign, with a win over Barry Town United and a defeat to Briton Ferry Llansawel so far. Their historic achievements of last season, which saw them win the FAW National Academi Development League South, FAW Youth Cup and National Academi Development League play-off final – which secured qualification for the UEFA Youth League for the first time in our history – means there are an exciting few weeks ahead as we prepare to play on the European stage.

Commenting on the news, Partnerships Manager Alaric Jones said: ”Both sitting within MSM, it is evident that social and community impact is very important for both OVW and Haverfordwest County AFC.

“This is the first step towards further collaboration which is very exciting for us, and we are delighted to be working together moving forward.”
