Ahead of our meeting with Floriana in the first leg of our UEFA Conference League first qualifying round tie next Tuesday, we’ve put together some useful information for those travelling to the island.

Currency

Malta’s official currency is the Euro.

The current exchange rate is 0.86 GBP to 1 EUR.

Time

Malta is currently on Central European Summer Time (CEST), meaning they are an hour ahead of Wales.

The match will get under way at 19:30 CEST.

Weather

Temperatures are currently very high in Malta, ranging between 26 and 31 degrees celsius in the daytime. The humidity is around 65%.

It goes without saying that sun protection (suncream, hats and sunglasses) are essential, while you should always carry bottles of water to stay hydrated.

Temperatures cool slightly in the evening, but remain warm.

Transport

Malta’s bus services are operated by Malta Public Transport. Services start from the bus station in Valletta.

The frequency of buses ranges from every ten minutes to hourly services on less busy routes.

You can also use the Bolt ride-hailing service to get around the island. The app is available on the App Store and Google Play Store.

Malta also has a bike-sharing scheme called tallinja Bike. You can conveniently borrow an electric bike from one docking station and return it to another.

Stadium

The match will be played at Centenary Stadium in Ta’ Qali, which is next door to the national stadium.

The stadium seats 1,700 people, and is home to the Maltese national under-21 team.

Tickets are available to be purchased from the Malta FA ticketing website, which you can access by clicking here.

Haverfordwest County supporters will be seated in ‘Side C’ of the stadium’s one and only stand.
