A year of fantastic progress and achievements have been celebrated as Haverfordwest County publish their Community Impact Report for 2024-25.
The report details the variety of initiatives the club have been involved in over the course of the last 12 months, as Community Manager Harry Thomas celebrates exactly one year in the role today.
Our Schools Provision has been a real highlight during this period of time, with over 150 sessions delivered across our Lunchtime Clubs, Afterschool clubs and Health and Wellbeing Clubs which have allowed us to work closely with local schools, creating positive environments to ensure pupils return to the classroom with no distractions, ready to learn.
Our Holiday Provision saw the club host three separate Soccer Camps at the Ogi Bridge Meadow in February, April and May, with over 400 children attending and having the opportunity to keep fit during the holiday period.
“We are still in the early stages of our journey, however, the progress made thus
far has been extremely pleasing. We are proud of the direction we are heading
in and thank everyone sincerely who has engaged with our community provision
across the 2024-25 season.” – Harry Thomas, Community Manager
Matchdays have also been a primary focus of our Community programme, with local food vendors helping to improve our offering while we also continue to give youngsters the opportunity to be part of matchdays by being mascots and flag bearers. Our Official Media Partner, Pure West Radio attend all of our home games and help to generate a fantastic atmosphere, with our hospitality offering providing supporters with a chance to enjoy matchdays in style.
The introduction of weekly Pay and Play sessions for boys and girls at the Ogi Bridge Meadow were very well received, providing a fun, safe and structured environment for children of all abilities to enjoy football, stay active and build confidence.
We were also delighted to officially affiliate with Haverfordwest Walking Football, with the team now playing under the Haverfordwest County name and going from strength to strength.
Our return to the Ogi Bridge Meadow on New Year’s Day saw over 1,400 people attend for our 1-0 victory over Aberystwyth Town, and we went on to average crowds of over 750 for the remainder of the season as we enjoyed a high level of community engagement.
