Haverfordwest County AFC are delighted to confirm that Ricky Watts has agreed a new two-year contract with the club!
The legendary midfielder is currently in his 14th season with the Bluebirds, having made his first team debut in 2009, and he brought up his 400th appearance for his hometown club away at Cardiff Metropolitan back in August.
Ricky has made 23 appearances in all competitions so far this season, netting in the 5-1 victory away at Carmarthen Town in the Nathaniel MG Cup, away at Aberystwyth Town and also in the JD Welsh Cup victory at Ammanford in November.
A firm favourite with the Bluebirds supporters, Ricky had the honour of captaining the team during our European campaign in the summer of 2023, as we created club history by winning a tie for the very first time.
Wattsy’s positional versatitlity has been a huge asset to manager Tony Pennock, which has seen him fulfil positions across the defensive line and in his preferred position of midfield.

Commenting on the news, manager Tony Pennock said: “Ricky has been a fantastic servant to our football club, and him extending his contract for a further two years shows his commitment to this football club.
“He always works hard at his game and remains a vital member of our squad.
“He has been excellent for me since I arrived, and long may that continue.”
Upon signing his new deal, Ricky said: “I’m delighted to commit my future to the club for another two years.
“This place is like my second home, and I’m grateful for the trust shown in me.
“I can’t wait to keep pushing, improving, and creating more special moments together!”
Ricky is kindly sponsored by the Cleddau Casuals.
