Lee Jenkins was proud to have made his 100th appearance for Haverfordwest County AFC in the 3-2 victory over Bala Town on Saturday, and is keen for the Bluebirds to keep their good run of form going throughout the Championship Conference.

County secured the three points thanks to Ben Ahmun’s goal and a brace from Dan Hawkins, with over 500 in attendance on a fine January afternoon at the Ogi Bridge Meadow Stadium.

The defender has been an integral part of the squad since linking up with County in the summer of 2022, and the Cymru C international turned in another impressive display against a physical Lakesiders outfit.

Here’s what the defender had to say in full after the game:

On the game

It’s always a tough game against Bala, it’s always a test, but we’ve done well to come out on the right side after a tough first half and then a good second half. One goal behind at the start, but we reacted brightly and the boys got a goal just before the end of the first half, which was vital for us, and then second half the boys came out all guns blazing and showed what we could do, score the goals and take the win.

On his 100th appearance

I didn’t even realise before turning out today, I did hear the PA during the warm up announcing the 100 appearances there and I was like, oh, I didn’t even realise that myself, but 100 appearances here for the club is great.

On keeping the momentum going

The more wins we get, it’s better for us and we’re more than capable of finishing second at the moment with the way we’re playing. So hopefully we can just keep pushing on and towards the end of the season we’ll be more automatic into Europe.

On the togetherness in the squad

It helps when we’ve got a full squad to start off with as well, and all the boys are so together in there. We’re a tight unit and it shows on the pitch really.

On the defence

I think this is only the second game all season that we’ve conceded two goals. Usually it’s the one goal or nothing, but we go again next week and hopefully we can be better defensively all round.

On next week’s game

We’re due a win there for sure. We all know that. We’re all ready for it. We’re all ready to go. We’ll take the three points today and it’s onto next week now.
