Haverfordwest County AFC get their JD Cymru Premier Championship Conference campaign under way with a game against Bala Town at the Ogi Bridge Meadow on Saturday.
The Bluebirds are set for their maiden appearance in the Championship Conference, having clinched a top six finish for the first time in a 12-team top-flight after an impressive Phase One.
County were most recently in action on January 14, when we shared the spoils with Barry Town United after a 1-1 draw at Jenner Park. Ben Ahmun’s eighth league goal of the season after just 20 seconds gave the Bluebirds the lead, before Ryan Kavanagh levelled the score after 24 minutes.
The Lakesiders’ previous game saw them defeat Connah’s Quay Nomads 2-0 at the Essity Stadium on January 17, after the first meeting had been abandoned due to fog. Osebi Abadaki and Nathan Burke were on target as Colin Caton’s side achieved the result they needed to secure their place in the top six.
The most recent meeting between the sides came at the end of November. On that occasion, there was nothing to separate the sides as the game ended 0-0 in very testing weather conditions at LHP Stadium in Carmarthen.
Tony Pennock’s men currently find themselves third in the JD Cymru Premier, 10 points behind second place Penybont and six points clear of Caernarfon Town in fourth.
