Haverfordwest County AFC will be looking to maintain their momentum ahead of their maiden JD Cymru Premier Championship Conference campaign when they bring Phase One to a close at Barry Town United on Tuesday evening.
The game was originally due to take place on Saturday 11 January, but with the Bala Town-Caernarfon Town fixture unable to take place before then due to the weather, the date was moved in the interests of sporting integrity.
The Bluebirds were most recently in action on Saturday 4 January, when we produced a sensational second-half display to defeat Briton Ferry Llansawel 5-1 in our second game on the new Ogi Bridge Meadow Stadium 3G pitch. Ben Ahmun netted a brace, with Rhys Abbruzzese, Greg Walters and Owain Jones also on the scoresheet.
The Linnets’ last outing saw them draw 0-0 away at Briton Ferry Llansawel on New Year’s Eve, with the Jenner Park side currently winless in four following defeats to Penybont, Bala Town and Caernarfon Town prior to the stalemate at Old Road.
The previous meeting between the sides came at the end of September. On that occasion, the spoils were shared in a 1-1 draw at LHP Stadium, after Ahmun had cancelled out Ollie Hulbert’s goal with defender Josh Yorwerth seeing red for the Dragons.
Haverfordwest County are guaranteed to head into the Championship Conferene in third place regardless of the result, while Barry are involved in a thrilling final-day race to claim a spot in the coveted top six.
