Haverfordwest County AFC welcome Bala Town to LHP Stadium on Saturday afternoon, as the Bluebirds look to strengthen their position in the top six with just six games remaining in Phase One of the JD Cymru Premier.

The Town were in JD Welsh Cup action last weekend as we triumphed 10-9 in a thrilling penalty shoot-out with Ammanford at The Recreation Ground, after the tie had ended 1-1 after normal time. Ricky Watts had given County the lead at half time, before Euros Griffiths struck late on to force a shoot-out.

The Lakesiders also needed spot-kicks to advance to the last 16 as they defeated fellow top-flight outfit Flint Town United 4-2 at Essity Stadium, with the tie having finished 2-2.

The previous meeting between the sides came at the start of October. On that occasion, County recorded a 2-0 win at Maes Tegid thanks to strikes from Ben Fawcett and Rhys Abbruzzese, with the latter marking his return to action with a goal.

Tony Pennock’s men currently find themselves third in the table, and a victory would move us one step closer to securing a top six berth for the second phase of the season. The Lakesiders are four places and eight points further back in seventh, and are involved in an exciting battle with a host of other sides to claim a place in the Championship Conference.
