Haverfordwest County AFC will mark its 125th year during the 2024-25 season – and Bluebirds supporters can look forward to a range of events, content, special offers, competitions and exciting unveilings as we celebrate a landmark anniversary in the club’s history.
Throughout our existence, the club has been known by four different names: Haverfordwest Football Club (upon inception), Haverfordwest Town (1901), Haverfordwest Athletic (1936) and Haverfordwest County (1956-present day).
In 1992-93, we were a founder member of the League of Wales, which has since been renamed the Welsh Premier League and the Cymru Premier, which it is known as today.
Having had spells in and out of the top-flight over the course of the last 20 years, we are currently preparing for our fifth consecutive campaign in Welsh football’s highest echelon.
In May 2023, we qualified for European competition for the first time since the 2004-05 season, thanks to a penalty shoot-out victory over Newtown at Latham Park. We would go on to create club history by winning a European tie for the first time, as we defeated KF Shkëndija of North Macedonia 3-2 on penalties, after the UEFA Europa Conference League first qualifying round tie had ended 1-1 on aggregate.
Included amongst our celebrations – details of which will be confirmed at various stages throughout the season – will be special episodes of the Bluebirds Nest with historic club figures, exhibits of historic club memorabillia, summer tournaments, events and additional fan engagement concepts – as we not only celebrate our proud history, but also look forward to an exciting future.
Finally, we would love to hear from supporters about their favourite stories and memories of following the Bluebirds over the years. This could include promotions, goals, memorable cup ties or even our recent European journey.
