Haverfordwest County AFC are delighted to announce the signing of Kyle Kenniford, who will link up with the Bluebirds for the 2024-25 season.

The midfielder, who is from Pembroke, has penned a one-year deal with the Town having been part of the Cardiff City academy setup since the age of nine.

Kyle, who played in the same Pembrokeshire County Primary Schools side as current Bluebird Iori Humphreys, lined up against us in last season’s Nathaniel MG Cup second round, when we took on the capital city Bluebirds’ under-21s at the Ogi Bridge Meadow.

Kyle has been training with us during the off-season, and has featured throughout our pre-season programme as we build up to the new campaign.

Throughout the last three years, the youngster was a regular in the Bluebirds’ under-18s side – where he was the regular penalty taker – before moving up to the under-21s and signing his first professional contract last season as reward for an impressive campaign.

Kyle becomes our fifth signing of the summer, joining Greg Walters, Owain Jones, Alaric Jones and Ben Ahmun in putting pen to paper for the upcoming campaign, which officially gets under way next weekend when we take on Carmarthen Town in the second round of the Nathaniel MG Cup.

Commenting on the news, manager Tony Pennock said: “Kyle was recommended to me by Darren Purse at Cardiff City. I hadn’t seen a lot of him previously. From our first conversation I have been impressed with his attitude and what he has shown over the last four weeks has shown everything Darren said.

“He will add to our midfield options and has the potential to play a big part this season. He has fitted in with the group already and, being a Pembrokeshire lad, already knows some of our squad.”

Upon signing for the club, Kyle said: “I’m delighted to sign with Haverfordwest County. Everyone at the club has made me feel so welcome already.

“This is a great club where I can grow as a player, and I’m looking forward to getting the season started.”
