Haverfordwest County AFC are delighted to announce the signing of Alaric Jones, who joins the club ahead of the 2024-25 season.
The defender has agreed a two-year deal with the Bluebirds, which will see him return for a third spell at the Ogi Bridge Meadow after most recently playing for fellow JD Cymru Premier side Cardiff Metropolitan.
Alaric becomes our third signing of the summer transfer window, as he joins Greg Walters and Owain Jones in putting pen to paper with the Town.
A product of our academy setup, Alaric became the youngest player to sign a first team contract when he put pen to paper at the age of 16 years and three months in August 2017.
Alaric captained the under-16s side to victory in the national final in 2017, and has also been a member of the Welsh Schools setup.
The 23-year-old made a total of 21 appearances for the Students during his two years in the capital, all of which came in the 2022-23 campaign with injury preventing him from taking the field last term.
Commenting on the news, manager Tony Pennock said: “Having known Alaric since he was nine, playing in the same Academy team at Swansea City as Dan Hawkins and my son, he is always a player I’ve admired.
“Another returning Pembrokeshire Bluebird, Alaric is a left-footed player which is a huge addition to our defensive numbers. Welcome home Al!”
Speaking upon his return to the club, Alaric said: “I’m really excited to be coming back home. It makes perfect sense after finishing my studies, and was something I wanted to do as soon as I knew it was possible. I can’t wait to get going.”
If you are interested in sponsoring Alaric for the 2024-25 season, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our Commercial Manager, Dennis O’Connor, on d.oconnor@hcafc1899.football!
