Haverfordwest County take on Barry Town United at the Ogi Bridge Meadow on Friday evening, looking to build on their good run of form in recent weeks as the end of the season draws ever nearer.
The Bluebirds were victorious away at Pontypridd United on Good Friday, as Rhys Abbruzzese’s 88th-minute penalty secured a dramatic three points at the USW Sport Park to make it back-to-back wins for County, after the 2-0 success over Aberystwyth Town a fortnight prior.
The Dragons, meanwhile, played out a stalemate with Penybont at Jenner Park on the same day. Jonathan Jones’ side played over half an hour with 10 men after defender Rhys Davies was shown two yellow cards in the space of nine minutes, with striker Ollie Hulbert also given his marching orders in stoppage time for two bookings in quick succession.
The previous meeting between the sides came back in February, when Abbruzzese again struck late to salvage a 1-1 draw for the Bluebirds after an own goal from Jazz Richards five minute before half time had given Barry the lead.
Tony Pennock’s side currently find themselves seventh in the standings, and top of the Playoff Conference with three games left in the regular season. A victory or a draw would be enough to see us maintain the position heading into the final two matches, while a defeat could open the door for eighth place Penybont to switch spots.
