Haverfordwest County AFC are proud to announce our Chief Operating Officer, Beccy Nuttall, has been voted onto the executive board of the Union of European Clubs (UEC).
The UEC, which was officially launched in April 2023, is an independent representative body which supports and advocates for non-elite professional clubs across Europe.
Beccy will be joined on the executive board by members of football clubs from right across Europe, including Royale Union Saint-Gilloise (Belgium), Norwich City (England), CA Osasuna (Spain), FC Eindhoven (Netherlands) and Istanbulspor (Turkey).
“The Union of European Clubs fills a massive void and will champion the interests of the clubs that form the foundation of European football,” said the UEC Founder Dennis Gudasic, who also serves as Executive Director of Zagreb’s Lokomotiva FC.
The UEC yesterday (April 24) set a new milestone with the celebration of its first General Assembly, a year to the day since their official launch. Beccy was in attendance, with members agreeing on a first list of objectives and policies for the future of the game, a document the organisation aims to develop in the coming months.
Three areas of focus have been identified: good governance, competitive balance, and integrity and financial sustainability.
“We re-affirm the critical role the UEC has to play as a stakeholder, the primary objective of which is to complement UEFA and the current football ecosystem, whilst giving a voice to professional clubs of all sizes. The UEC will enable this large majority of clubs to defend their interest and advocate for a regulatory environment where they can progress in both financial and sporting terms,” Beccy said.
Congratulations, Beccy!
