Haverfordwest County will be looking to build on the victory over Aberystwyth Town when we head to Pontypridd United on Good Friday for our penultimate away game of the season.
The Bluebirds ran out 2-0 winners over the Seasiders in our most recent outing on March 15, with goals from Dan Hawkins and Martell Taylor-Crossdale earning us all three points against the 10-man Black and Greens.
The Dragons were last in action on March 16, as they shared the spoils with Barry Town United after a 1-1 draw at the USW Sport Park. Owain Jones’ early strike had given Pontypridd the lead, before Will Richards equalised for the Linnets on the half-hour mark.
The most recent meeting between the sides came back in February, in a game which ended 1-1 at the Ogi Bridge Meadow. After defender Luke Cummings had been shown a straight red card after 30 minutes, Ben Fawcett put County ahead four minutes later, however striker Ben Ahmun found a leveller four minutes before the interval and that was how it ended.
Tony Pennock’s men currently find themselves seventh in the standings, and top of the Playoff Conference. A victory for the Town would ensure we maintain that spot for another week, however a draw or a defeat could open the door for eighth place Penybont to swap positions.
