Haverfordwest County return to JD Cymru Premier action tomorrow when we make the trip to Jenner Park to take on Barry Town United under the lights.
With the JD Welsh Cup quarter-finals taking centre stage last weekend, league action took a break, with the Bluebirds’ most recent outing coming on February 9 when we drew 1-1 with Pontypridd United at the Ogi Bridge Meadow.
The Dragons were last in action on February 10, when they were held to a 2-2 draw by 10-man Penybont at the SDM Glass Stadium, with Aiden Lewis and Sam Snaith’s goals cancelled out by Kane Owen and Keyon Reffell respectively after Chris Venables had been sent off on the 24 minute mark.
The two teams last met on Boxing Day, with County running out 2-0 winners thanks to goals from Dan Hawkins and Martell Taylor-Crossdale after Jordan Cotterill had seen red after 21 minutes.
Tony Pennock’s men currently sit seventh in the standings, top of the Playoff Conference with 29 points. A victory or a draw would ensure that we maintain that position for at least another week, while a defeat would open the door to Penybont – who sit three points behind us, but with a slightly superior goal difference – to move up one place, with the thrilling battle to clinch seventh almost certain to go right down to the wire.
