After an eight-day break, Haverfordwest County return to JD Cymru Premier action tomorrow when we host Cardiff Metropolitan at the Ogi Bridge Meadow.
In our most recent outing on Sunday, November 19, the Bluebirds recorded one of the most eye-catching results of the season, as we defeated Connah’s Quay Nomads 2-1 at the Essity Stadium, handing the top-flight’s second place side their first loss at their new home.
That victory helped move the Town to within three points of sixth place Caernarfon Town, as we recorded back-to-back wins in the league for the first time this season.
The Archers, meanwhile, have been on a good run of form lately and, just like the Bluebirds, they have recorded three consecutive wins in all competitions, with victories away at Pontypridd United and at home to Connah’s Quay followed up with a 2-1 JD Welsh Cup success over Mold Alexandra of the JD Cymru North.
The previous meeting between the sides came at the end of the September. In a hard-fought contest, County took the lead just after the hour mark through Kai Whitmore’s penalty, however Lewis Rees equalised with two minutes left of normal time. A dramatic conclusion saw the Students awarded a penalty of their own in stoppage time, however Town keeper Ifan Knott denied Rees from 12 yards to ensure a share of the spoils.
