Haverfordwest County are back in JD Cymru Premier action tomorrow afternoon when we welcome Connah’s Quay Nomads to the Ogi Bridge Meadow.
The Bluebirds were on the end of a 5-1 defeat to champions The New Saints at Park Hall last Saturday, despite being in the contest for much of the 90 minutes. Lee Jenkins’ header made it 2-1 with 20 minutes remaining, however substitute Ryan Brobbel netted a nine-minute hat-trick to swing the game decidedly in the Oswestry side’s favour.
The Nomads, meanwhile, have made a strong start to the season, winning five of their seven matches to date. Their most recent outing was a 4-0 success over Cardiff Metropolitan at home last Saturday, with defender Ben Nash scoring twice as Jack Kenny and Michael Wilde also found the net to give them a comfortable victory.
The previous meeting between the sides came eight months ago, when the Bluebirds produced one of their best performances of the 2022-23 season to record a 2-1 win at the Ogi Bridge Meadow. A wonderful long-range effort from Elliott Dugan, along with a penalty from fellow former striker Jordan Davies – who has since returned to north Wales – handing Tony Pennock’s side a morale-boosting victory at the time.
County will be without midfielder Kai Whitmore for tomorrow’s game, as the midfielder serves a one-match suspension having picked up five yellow cards.
