Haverfordwest County and Colwyn Bay will meet for the first time on Saturday afternoon, when the Bluebirds travel north to take on the newly-promoted Seagulls on JD Cymru Premier MD5.

Steve Evans’ side are competing in the Welsh top-flight for the first time in their history this season having been promoted as champions of the JD Cymru North last term, in a campaign which saw them win 27 of their 30 matches, drawing twice and losing just once.

Like the Bluebirds, the Bay are still searching for their first league victory of the season, having drawn one and lost three of their four matches to date. The Bluebirds, on the other hand, have drawn three times and lost once, with their most recent outing being the 2-2 draw away at Barry Town United on Tuesday evening, with Ricky Watts scoring in the 90th and 96th minute to salvage a point for the Town.

The Seagulls, meanwhile, were beaten 1-0 at home by champions The New Saints, with Adrian Cieślewicz’s 54th-minute header enough to give the Saints victory. Their other encounters to date have seen them lose 4-0 at home to Caernarfon Town, draw 1-1 away at Barry Town United and lose 1-0 at Cardiff Metropolitan.

County are currently ninth in the table, with the Bay sitting 11th. A win for Tony Pennock’s men could see them climb to as high as sixth, as they look to open their account in the win column for 2023-24.
