Haverfordwest County are on the road for their first away game of the season tomorrow, as we travel to Bridgend to take on Pen-y-Bont on JD Cymru Premier MD2.

The Bluebirds picked up a point on the opening day of the season with a 0-0 draw against Pontypridd United at the Ogi Bridge Meadow last Friday, while Bont recorded a 3-1 victory away at Newtown, with a Rob Evans own goal and a brace from Chris Venables earning them all three points.

The two meetings between the sides last season were shared evenly, with Bont winning the first encounter in August 2022, before the Bluebirds exacted revenge with a 2-1 win at the Meadow in December thanks to goals from Elliott Dugan and Jamie Veale.

Former Bluebird, Henry Jones, now plies his trade for tomorrow’s opponents after making the switch this summer. Meanwhile, Kai Whitmore will come up against his former side for the first time since linking up with County.

At this earliest of stages, Tony Pennock’s men currently find themselves 6th, while Rhys Griffiths’ side are third in the table.
