Haverfordwest County AFC are delighted to announce The Athletic as the front of shirt sponsor for our upcoming UEFA Europa Conference League campaign.

Launched in the UK in 2019, The Athletic has become the go-to destination for unrivalled club and international football coverage.

Delivering content across a range of formats from written to video and audio, their world class team of writers and analysts cover the English Premier League, Championship football, all the major European football leagues, such as La Liga and USA soccer in depth. Wrexham – who recently returned to the English Football League – are also covered extensively.

As part of the partnership, The Athletic – which was acquired by The New York Times Company in January 2022 – will be documenting our journey, telling our story via exclusive, behind the scene access of our upcoming UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers, in what will be our first outing in Europe in 19 years.

The European strip will be launched in time for the first leg of the First Qualifying Round tie on July 13th with KF Shkëndija of North Macedonia. A limited number of shirts will be made available for purchase to provide supporters with a memento of what promises to be a special summer.

“We are delighted and privileged to be partnering with the leader in sports journalism on our European adventure and we hope the story is as compelling and exciting as the journey was to reach this stage!

Ben Tyler, Commercial & Marketing Director, Haverfordwest County

“We love getting on the inside of amazing football moments and stories at The Athletic and they don’t get more compelling than Haverfordwest County’s upcoming European campaign.

“Clubs like Haverfordwest are critical to the overall success of the game and the communities they are such a big part of.

“The opportunity to sponsor and support HCAFC was an opportunity we jumped at. Good luck!”
