Haverfordwest County AFC are delighted to confirm that Lee Jenkins has agreed a new one-year deal with the club.
The defender arrived at the Ogi Bridge Meadow from Aberystwyth Town last summer, and proved to be an important part of the team who qualified for Europe for the first time since 2004.
He made his debut in the season-opening 4-2 victory over Barry Town United in the Nathaniel MG Cup in August, with his goal just after the half-hour mark capping an impressive first appearance for County.
Featuring 36 times in all competitons in 2022-23, the 21-year-old was a commanding presence in a Bluebirds defence which grew in confidence as the season progressed, with his aerial ability in particular being a real strength.
One of the most highly-rated young defenders in the JD Cymru Premier, Lee played the entirety of our European play-offs last month, putting in two 120-minute shifts as we overcame Cardiff Metropolitan and Newtown to book continental qualification.
His consistent performances were rewarded with a call-up to the Wales C squad for the game with England at Altrincham back in March, where he came on as a late substitute at the J. Davidson Stadium.
In terms of minutes played throughout the league season, Lee led the way with just over 3,000, highlighting his reliability in what turned out to be a successful campaign – and we look forward to seeing him in the blue of Haverfordwest County once again in 2023-24.
